Portrait work is an art and humans are unique. I know this to be true because I’ve had the opportunity to photograph incredible people — by themselves and interacting together in groups — for more than 15-years. My intention when photographing someone is to elevate the individual visually in some way so that you recognize yourself. Portrait photography isn’t a glamour shot or an image that’s perfectly retouched. My work is an expression of an individual’s character and it’s my responsibility to show this in a way that instills confidence and trust; designed to reveal hopes, dreams, warmth and spirit.
