Portrait photography isn’t a glamour shot or an image that’s perfectly retouched. My work is an expression of an individual’s character and it’s my responsibility to show this in a way that instills confidence and trust; designed to reveal hopes, dreams, warmth and spirit. Portrait work is an art and humans are a unique species. I know this to be true because I’ve had the opportunity to photograph hundreds of incredible people — by themselves and interacting together in groups. My purpose, when photographing someone, is to elevate the individual visually in some way so that you recognize yourself.
