I moved back to New York in March of 2020 the day before the lockdown. Right away, the city went still. The grocery stores were barren, the streets empty. The best way to get around was by my bike so I rode between Harlem and Battery Park, there wasn’t much else to do. Spring was near as I set out to capture some of the neighborhoods I used to enjoy, usually filled with people, and was left in awe by the city that never sleeps that had to rest.
